About Giant Squid
Giant Squid is Matt Nava's flow studio making wordless swim glide rides. Abzu from August 2016 dives oceans with sharks and drones. The Pathless from November 2020 hunts cursed isles with eagle glides and bow shots.
Sword of the Sea from August 2025 surfs deserts on hoverboards with the same tide feel. Austin Wintory scored Abzu and Pathless with the same swell shape. The divers never link, only the flow loop. The swells never flatten across long dives. New currents lift every voyage for fans today.
Good to know
There is no shared diver between the games, so any tide works alone once you know the loop. Release order is still the best arc from dive to hunt to surf. Start with Abzu for the swim basics, then Pathless for the glide peak, then Sword last for the surf return. The flow never breaks across three tides.
