Watch String answers one question: what order should I watch or play this in? Every guide covers a movie franchise, series, anime, cartoon or game series, and lays out both release order and chronological order when the two genuinely differ, so you can pick the approach that fits how you want to experience it.

What this site covers

• Series — TV shows with multiple seasons, spin-offs and crossovers.

What this site is not

Watch String does not host, stream or link to downloads of any film, episode or game. It is a viewing-order reference only. Posters and cover art are linked directly from their original source (TMDB for screen titles, RAWG for games) rather than copied and re-hosted here.

Release order vs. chronological order

Release order is the sequence a franchise actually came out in. It is usually the safer default for a first watch, since it is the order the creators designed the reveals and pacing around. Chronological order follows the in-story timeline instead, which can make for a rewarding rewatch but sometimes spoils twists that landed differently on original release. Where a franchise has a well-known answer to this question, each guide states it explicitly.

How guides are researched

Each guide is checked against multiple current sources before it is published, and again whenever a franchise gets a new entry. Release dates, episode counts and season structure change as new seasons or films are announced, so every guide carries a visible last-updated date. Titles and years are verified; plot detail is kept to the minimum needed to place an entry in order, to avoid unnecessary spoilers.
