About Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
Wayne Szalinski is a struggling inventor whose shrink ray miniaturizes four kids in 1989, grows his toddler to giant size in the 1992 sequel, and shrinks the parents themselves in the 1997 video finale.
The three films tell one loose family story in release order, while the 1997 TV series recasts the family and works as an optional side trip.
Good to know
Disney developed a legacy sequel called Shrunk with Josh Gad as an adult Nick and Rick Moranis back as Wayne, but Gad said in June 2023 that it was on hold indefinitely, so it stays off the list until cameras roll.
