About Buzzer Beater
Buzzer Beater adapts Takehiko Inoue's space basketball manga with Hideyoshi joining Earth's first pro team. Season 1 ran 13 episodes from February 5 to April 2005 on WOWOW covering the draft and early league games. Season 2 ran 13 episodes from July to September 2007 continuing the championship push against elite alien squads.
TMS animated both runs. The manga ran 1996 to 1998 in Monthly Shonen Jump. No third season or film has been made. The 26 episodes form one Earth underdog arc with a firm close and no OVAs in the list.
Good to know
Broadcast order is story order with no recap films to slot. Season 2 assumes you know DT's scoring runs and Maru's coaching, so do not start there. Inoue fans get early art before Slam Dunk's polish, which is part of the charm. With the manga finished and no revival dated, the 2007 closer remains the end of the screen run.
