About Cat's Eye
Cat's Eye adapts Tsukasa Hojo's manga about sisters Hitomi, Rui and Ai stealing back their father's art as the Cat's Eye thieves. Season one aired 36 episodes from 1983 to 1984 around the gallery chases with Toshio on their trail. Season two aired 37 episodes from 1984 to 1985 closing the collection arc.
The manga finished with 18 volumes, so the anime covers the complete run with no gaps. Disney Plus announced a new adaptation with no air date as of 2026, leaving the original pair as the complete telling for now.
Good to know
Watch seasons one and two in broadcast order, since the gallery thefts and the Toshio romance assume the run. The show is episodic around one heist each, so an occasional skip harms nothing outside the finales and the collection arc. The coming adaptation would slot as its own start once dated rather than a continuation.
