About Nier Automata
Nier Automata Ver1.1a follows androids 2B and 9S fighting machines on ruined Earth across two cours from 2023. The first cour sets YoRHa orders, Pascal village, the amusement park trap and the desert rifts across 12 episodes, building trust between scanner and combat units. Emil cameos and Pascal's village fall raise the cost of each YoRHa fight.
The second cour from 2024 pushes the Bunker fall, A2 reveal, church echoes and the tower choice with faster pacing and added puppet scenes. The anime trims game routes and adds fresh dialogue, so it works as a companion rather than a replacement for the game endings and route E.
Good to know
Watch cour 1 from 2023 then cour 2 from 2024 in exact broadcast order with no skips or reordering, since YoRHa reveals stack across cours. The game routes can be played before or after with no harm, but the anime spoils major game twists around 2B, 9S and A2. Both cours close the tower arc with no third cour dated, so treat the run as complete as of this check.
