About Tatsunoko
Tatsunoko opened with Speed Racer in 1967 about Go and the Mach 5. Science Ninja Team Gatchaman followed in 1972 with five bird capes, then Casshan in 1973 as an android war. Tekkaman arrived in 1975 with space knights.
Samurai Pizza Cats came in 1990 as a joke dub over Tatsunoko cats, and Gatchaman Crowds in 2013 rebooted the birds with social apps. The works share bird capes and science teams but separate plots, so release order tracks the house from ink to apps. The bird capes and science teams carry every launch with verve.
Good to know
Watch oldest to newest since each team resets its birds. Speed Racer first sets the race grammar for the run. Gatchaman and Crowds pair as the bird bookends to give full focus. Pizza Cats breaks the run as comedy. No next flagship has a date yet, so the 2013 reboot stays last until one lands. The rerun love confirms the house, so give Gatchaman full attention.
