The Eccentric Family follows Yasaburo in 2013 across thirteen episodes as a tanuki drifting through Kyoto with the Shimogamo family. Early episodes set the Friday Fellows, the Benten turn and the father past.
Season 2 from 2017 continues across twelve episodes into the Nidaime successor fight. Watch season 1 first, then season 2. P.A. Works stages the tanuki, tengu and human triangle so each grudge only lands in sequence. Benten and the Friday Fellows loom over both runs. The Morimi wordplay fills the narration.
