About Home Movies
Home Movies was created by Brendon Small and Loren Bouchard about Brendon, an eight-year-old who shoots backyard films with friends Melissa and Jason. It totals 52 episodes: five aired on UPN in 1999 before cancellation, and Cartoon Network revived it as the first original show on Adult Swim's launch night, September 2, 2001. Season 1 uses Squigglevision, later seasons switch to Flash, and the dialogue stays heavily improvised throughout.
Watch the four seasons in air order. The run ends April 4, 2004 with Focus Grill, which was written as a series finale. H. Jon Benjamin voices Coach McGuirk and Jason; Small later made Metalocalypse and Bouchard made Bob's Burgers.
Good to know
Season 1 counts 13 episodes: the 5 from UPN plus 8 that premiered on Adult Swim in fall 2001. Season 3 episodes aired partly out of order, but release order still works since the show dropped its season arcs after season 2. Sources: Wikipedia (Home Movies TV series), A.V.
