About Monster High
Monster High began with Mattel webisodes in 2010 around Frankie Stein, Draculaura and Clawdeen Wolf. TV specials like Fright On and the 2012 movies built the original generation through 2015. The 2016 reboot restarted the school with new designs for two seasons, and the 2022 Nickelodeon series ran two seasons through 2024 with a fresh cast.
A live-action TV movie aired in 2022 beside the animated series in its own continuity. Each generation resets parentage and school history, so the webisodes, the reboot and the Nickelodeon run all start clean for newcomers.
Good to know
Watch one generation at a time in release order rather than mixing eras, since designs and voices change completely between runs. The 2022 series works as the modern start with 50 episodes across two seasons. The live-action movie shares songs and names with the animated run but tells its own story, safe as a bonus after either generation.
