Rex the Runt follows dogs Rex, Vince, Wendy, and Bad Bob in Birmingham with deadpan sci-fi plots. Series 1 ran 13 episodes from December 21, 1998 to January 1, 1999 on BBC Two. Creator Richard Goleszowski led the Aardman team.
Series 2 ran 13 episodes from September to December 2001, with the final cooking episode delayed in some listings to an April 2005 repeat. Three pilots precede the runs. No new series was made after 2001. Watch series 1 then series 2 in broadcast order. The jokes land best in broadcast order.
