About Star vs. the Forces of Evil
Star vs. the Forces of Evil follows Mewni princess Star Butterfly, sent to Earth to train with her magic wand, and her friend Marco Diaz. It ran 77 episodes across four seasons from January 2015 to May 2019, moving from Disney XD to Disney Channel for its final season. The show blends episodic comedy with a serialized fight over magic and the throne of Mewni.
Watch seasons 1 and 2, then the Battle for Mewni movie event, then the rest of season 3 and season 4. The movie opens season 3 and should not be skipped.
Good to know
Season 1 (2015, 13 episodes), season 2 (2016 to 2017, 22), season 3 (2017 to 2018, 21), season 4 (2019, 21). The Battle for Mewni premiered July 15, 2017 as the first four episodes of season 3 aired together as a two-hour event. The fourth season was announced as the last on February 7, 2019; the series ended May 19, 2019 with Cleaved. Creator Daron Nefcy has voiced interest in a revival, including May 2025 remarks, but Disney has announced no continuation.
