About Gargoyles
Gargoyles runs two canon seasons from 1994 to 1996 with Goliath's Manhattan clan against Xanatos and Demona, starting from the 994 Scotland Awakening. The Goliath Chronicles from 1996 to 1997 continued on ABC mostly without Weisman and counts as non-canon except its opener The Journey. The SLG comics from 2006 to 2009 continue from season 2 directly, and Dynamite's run since 2022 serves as season 4 with Dark Ages and Quest arcs.
Watch seasons 1 and 2, then read the comics. The Chronicles contradicts the comic continuation, so the two cannot both count; creator canon sides with the comics. The Journey works as the handoff either way. A live-action project has been reported without dates, so the animated run plus comics are complete for now.
Good to know
Seasons 1 and 2 first, comics after, Chronicles only as curiosity. The SLG Clan Building run starts right where season 2 ends and ignores season 3, while Dynamite's Here in Manhattan continues that same line. Watching the Chronicles finale as canon breaks the comics, so pick the comics path. The Marvel 90s comics and the video game stay outside either path as extras.
