About Blue Reflection
Blue Reflection from Gust launched March 30, 2017 on PS4 and Vita, following Hinako Shirai at Hoshinomiya school as she enters the Common to fight with magical girls. Blue Reflection: Second Light arrived November 9, 2021 on PS4, Switch and PC with a new cast led by Ao Hoshizaki in a floating academy.
Second Light is a standalone story in the same universe, so either game works first, but release order shows the combat growth best. Blue Reflection Ray aired in 2021 as an anime side story. Mobile titles like Sun from 2023 expand the cast and closed in 2024.
Good to know
There is no branching timeline to untangle, so release order is the recommended path. The first game runs about 25 hours with school chapters between dungeon trips. Second Light adds stealth, photo mode and base building. Play on PS4 or PC for stable frame rates since Vita loads slowly. The Ray anime can be watched after either game without spoiling the other.
