About Brace Yourself Games
Crypt of the NecroDancer arrived in 2015 as a rhythm roguelike with Danny Baranowsky beats. Cadence of Hyrule followed June 13, 2019 as a Nintendo crossover. Phantom Brigade entered early access in 2023 with 2.0 in November 2025 as timeline mech tactics.
Rift of the NecroDancer launched February 5, 2025 on Steam as lane rhythm with later consoles and DLC packs into 2026. No next original was dated. Play Crypt first, then Cadence, then Phantom, then Rift. Each teaches a new beat grid with the same timing core.
Good to know
These are standalone rhythm systems games with no shared continuity beyond Cadence, so release order is the tool climb. Crypt teaches roguelike beats. Cadence teaches overworld rhythm. Phantom teaches timeline tactics. Rift teaches lane notes. DLC packs for Rift add songs, not new list entries. The list ends at four until BYG dates a next original.
