About Crash Team Racing
Crash Team Racing from 1999 opens the kart line on PlayStation with Oxide's alien challenge, built by Naughty Dog. Adventure mode and powerslides set the template. It drew Mario Kart comparisons at once.
Crash Nitro Kart from 2003 continues on PS2 era hardware with 13 tracks from Vicarious Visions. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled from June 2019 remakes both on modern systems with all tracks plus extras. Play the 1999 original first, then Nitro Kart, then Fueled. Beenox built the remake from the ground up.

Release order is the track order from classic to remake. Start with the 1999 original for the Oxide story. Nitro Kart adds its 13 tracks. Nitro-Fueled folds both in, so veterans can start there for modern play. Tag Team Racing sits outside this core trio. Grand Prix extras keep Fueled fresh for racers.
