About The Longest Journey
The Longest Journey from 1999 follows April Ryan across Stark and Arcadia in classic inventory puzzles. Dreamfall from April 2006 moves to Zoe Castillo with action stealth blends and a new threat.
Dreamfall Chapters closed the run episodically from October 2014 to June 2016 across five Books, with a Final Cut console port in 2017. A Home coda for April sits unfunded on hold since the Kickstarter stretch goal missed. Rights sit with Funcom rather than Red Thread, so no new entry is in production.
Good to know
Play Longest Journey, then Dreamfall, then the five Chapters in Book order from start to finish. The world balance and character returns only land in sequence across all three. Chapters recaps lightly, but April and Zoe arcs need the earlier games fully behind them. The iOS port of the original works fine as a start for newcomers.
