About Master Detective Archives
Master Detective Archives follows Rain Code, released in 2023 on Switch from Spike Chunsoft, about amnesiac detective Yuma tied to death god Shinigami in Kanai Ward. Yuma solves chapter murders with Master Detective powers, then proves each case inside Mystery Labyrinth trials. The game uses Solution Keys, Reasoning Deathmatches and Shinigami rush finales.
Rain Code Plus arrived in 2024 on PS5, Xbox and PC with new substories and difficulty options. The plot closes the Kanai Ward truth with the company and homunculus reveals. No sequel has released, so the two editions form the complete run. Play Rain Code first, then Plus extras. The Labyrinths assume full chapter knowledge each time.
Good to know
Play Rain Code first in chapter order, then the Plus edition extras. The Mystery Labyrinth trials reuse Solution Keys from each murder scene, so rushing scenes spoils trial paths. Shinigami rush finales assume you tracked the motive logic. Plus adds substories best read after the Kanai Ward truth. These two editions form the full path from station arrival to company reveal with Yuma and Shinigami.
