About Seaman
Seaman launched in 1999 on Dreamcast with a pack in microphone and Leonard Nimoy narrating. You hatch a fish with a human face, feed it, and talk to it each day as it grows legs and insults you. The VMU shows oxygen and hunger between chats.
Seaman 2 arrived in 2007 on PlayStation 2 only in Japan, swapping the tank for an island where you raise the Peking Man called Gasper. The mic returns for orders and praise there too. Both games run on real clocks, so daily short visits beat long grinds every time.
Good to know
Play Seaman 1 first since it teaches the mic talk and daily care loop. The Dreamcast mic or a converter is needed for the full effect here. Seaman 2 fits after as a separate island with no shared save file. No third game has been announced yet, so the two game run is complete and stable for now today.
