About Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley launched in 2016 from solo developer ConcernedApe as a farm sim with crops, mines, fishing and town bonds. The base game moves through seasons, community center bundles and marriage across the valley. Free updates added farm maps, night market, Ginger Island and late-game quests.

There is no sequel, only one game growing by patches, so play the base first then each update in turn. Early years teach crops and mines, mid play opens desert and island zones, and late quests assume full tool ranks. Update order keeps each new crop, fish and island gate timed right from start to now.

Good to know

Play the base 2016 game first, then each free update in release order. The farm loses nothing by patching early, but island and mastery quests assume base skills. Learn crops, fishing and mines across year one before chasing desert or island maps. Later perfection goals reuse every early system, so core first keeps the long endgame clear. Bundles first, since island gates assume full tool ranks.
