About Bridget Jones
Bridget Jones began with Helen Fielding's novel about a London woman chronicling love and work. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) sets her between Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver. The Edge of Reason (2004) follows the couple to Thailand and jail. Bridget Jones's Baby (2016) brings a pregnancy with disputed paternity. Mad About the Boy (2025) adapts the third novel with Bridget widowed and dating younger.
All four star Renee Zellweger with Colin Firth returning as Darcy through the finale. Mad About the Boy released February 2025 in theaters and on Peacock, closing the novel adaptations with no fifth film announced.
Good to know
Watch one through four in release order, since Darcy's arc and the deaths between films assume sequence. The twelve-year gap before Baby gets explained quickly on screen, so no outside reading is needed. Fielding's columns and novels expand jokes but the films stand alone, with Mad About the Boy working as the planned goodbye.
