About Bring It On
Bring It On started in 2000 with Kirsten Dunst and became a hit about rival high school cheer squads. Five direct to video sequels followed between 2004 and 2017, each with a new cast and a new squad. The last entry, Cheer or Die from 2022, turns the formula into a slasher on Syfy.
None of the films share characters or plot, so there is no story order to untangle. Release order shows how the series moved from teen comedy to low budget sequels to horror. Start with the original. It is the only one critics still rate highly.
Good to know
There is no chronological order here. Each film resets with a new school and a new rivalry, so you can watch any single entry alone and miss nothing. Cheer or Die from 2022 is the outlier. It keeps the brand but plays as horror, and fans split hard on whether it counts as a real sequel. Treat it as a bonus.
