About A Chinese Ghost Story
A Chinese Ghost Story from 1987 pairs debt collector Ning Choi-san, played by Leslie Cheung, with ghost Nie Xiaoqian, played by Joey Wong, inside Lan Ruo Temple with Taoist Yin, under Ching Siu-tung and producer Tsui Hark. Part 2 from 1990 follows a prison convoy with scholar Chu and warrior Fu Qingfeng against a centipede demon.
Part 3 from 1991 centers on monk Shi Fang and a new Xiaoqian with swordsman Yin. Each blends romance, horror and wire action. Watch in release order because temple rules repeat, and the run closed in 1991 apart from the 2011 remake.
