The Devil Wears Prada (2006) follows assistant Andy Sachs surviving editor Miranda Priestly at Runway, opening June 30, 2006 from David Frankel. The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026) reunites Andy with Miranda, Emily and Nigel as print collapses, opening May 1, 2026 for 20th Century Studios with premiere April 20, 2026 at Lincoln Center.
Frankel directed both with Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Tucci returning for the sequel. No third film has been announced. Watch in release order, since the sequel reuses the cerulean speech, the Paris trip and the Andrea choice without reteaching them.
Good to know
Release order is story order, with the sequel set twenty years after the first desk year. Do not start with part two, since it assumes you know the Nigel demotion and the James Holt pitch. Each runs around 100 minutes as workplace satire, not documentary. Treat the duology as complete, with the May 2026 date met and no further run dated.
