About Hangover
The Hangover trilogy from Todd Phillips follows Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug, the self-named Wolfpack. The first film (2009) wakes them in Las Vegas with Doug missing and a tiger in the bathroom. Part II (2011) repeats the blackout in Bangkok around Stu's wedding. Part III (2013) breaks the formula into a road chase after Mr. Chow escapes prison.
Phillips closed the story in 2013 by design, reuniting the cast for a finale about Alan growing up rather than another wedding. The cast has said in interviews since that no fourth film is planned, leaving the trilogy finished.
Good to know
Watch one through three in release order, since Alan's arc and the Chow thread pay off only in sequence. Part II replays the first film's structure on purpose, which lands better seen right after the original. Part III drops the forgotten-night mystery for a straight heist, so expect a genre shift at the end rather than a repeat of the Vegas trick.
