About The Prophecy
The Prophecy from September 1, 1995 pits Archangel Gabriel against detective Thomas Dagget over an evil soul, with Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer. Gregory Widen wrote and directed on an 8 million dollar budget, and it earned 16.1 million theatrically. The Prophecy II from 1998 follows pregnant Valerie with Russell Wong as Danyael.
The Prophecy 3: The Ascent from 2000 tracks grown Danyael against a new threat with Walken now human. The Prophecy: Uprising and The Prophecy: Forsaken both arrived in 2005, filmed together in Bucharest with John Light and Kari Wuhrer. Walken does not return for those two, which shift to Dani and Allison.
Good to know
Watch in release order. The titles confuse people, since part 4 is called Uprising and part 5 is Forsaken with no numbers on some covers. Walken appears in the first three only, so the drop in his presence after Ascent is expected. Uprising and Forsaken were shot as one block, which is why they share cast and a shorter 75 minute shape. No sixth film has been announced.
