About Red Notice
Red Notice (2021) teams FBI man John Hartley with thief Nolan Booth to catch Sarah Black, opening November 12, 2021 on Netflix from Rawson Marshall Thurber with Johnson, Reynolds and Gadot. Red Notice 2 was announced January 2022 as back to back sequels with the trio to return, then scaled back November 2023 to one script only. Gadot said June 2023 she read the second script.
As of May 2026 the sequel remains in development with no shoot or release date, delayed by schedules but not cancelled. Watch the 2021 film first, then wait on 2 once dated, since the egg twist and the Bishop turn set up the next con.
Good to know
Release order is the only order, with one film released and the rest waiting. Do not skip the 2021 setup, since the Cleopatra eggs and the Hartley badge turn drive the sequel pitch. The film runs two hours as globe heist comedy, not hard crime. Treat the franchise as in development, with Thurber writing but no cameras dated.
