About Safdie Brothers
Josh and Benny Safdie co-directed street stories from The Pleasure of Being Robbed in 2008 through Daddy Longlegs in 2009 and Heaven Knows What in 2014. Good Time arrived in 2017 with Robert Pattinson. Uncut Gems closed the joint run in 2019 with Adam Sandler.
The brothers now work solo with Elara producing. Benny directed The Smashing Machine in fall 2025 about Mark Kerr with Dwayne Johnson. Josh directed Marty Supreme on December 25, 2025 about table-tennis hustler Marty Mauser with Timothee Chalamet. Watch the six joints first, then the two solos in release order.
Good to know
Joint films share no continuity, so release order is simply the craft climb from handheld to neon thriller. The 2013 Lenny Cooke doc sits third in that joint run. Solo films are separate credits after the split, not sequels. Marty Supreme holds a locked December 25, 2025 US date. No further joint film has been announced, so the list ends with the two 2025 solos.
