About Street Trash
Street Trash spans two melt movies decades apart. The 1987 original from J. Michael Muro poisons Brooklyn homeless with Tenafly Viper liquor, while Ryan Kruger's 2024 film works as a spiritual sequel in a dystopian Cape Town with government Viper gas.
The 2024 film was executive produced by the original's makers and references the earlier events without copying them. Watch the original first for the full effect, though Kruger built the sequel to work standalone for newcomers with practical melts throughout.
Good to know
Release order is the viewing order since the sequel follows the original's world, so no chronological list is needed. Shot on 35mm with practical effects, the 2024 film deliberately avoids repeating the first. No further sequel is greenlit, with Kruger open only if the right story appears down the line.
