Re-Animator from 1985 opens with Combs reviving the dead at Miskatonic, mixing gore with comedy. From Beyond from 1986 follows the same crew through a resonator to another side. Dolls from 1987 traps a family in a toy maker house.
Robot Jox from 1990 shifts to mech battles, and Fortress from 1992 to a prison future. Castle Freak from 1995 returns to Lovecraft in Italy, and Dagon from 2001 closes the run in a Spanish fishing town. Later Masters of Horror entries extend it for completists. Combs carries the best of them.
Good to know
The films share a crew but no plot, so release order shows the practical effects arc best. Start with Re-Animator for the calling card, then From Beyond for the slimier peak. Dolls plays lighter between them. Expect strong gore throughout, with Dagon as the late run treat. Note: Castle Freak has its own guide for completists of that film.
