About Tom Tykwer
Tom Tykwer broke out in Germany with Deadly Maria in 1993 and Winter Sleepers in 1997, then reached a wide audience with Run Lola Run in 1998. The Princess and the Warrior followed in 2000 and Heaven in 2002, both built around fate, guilt and sudden second chances.
Perfume in 2006 proved he could carry a big literary adaptation, and Cloud Atlas in 2012 with the Wachowskis pushed that scale further across six eras.
