About Betty
Betty follows young women skaters claiming parks in New York from the Skate Kitchen film world. Season 1 (2020) runs 6 episodes from May 1, 2020 on the crew setup. Season 2 (2021) runs 6 episodes from June 11 to July 16, 2021 with Honeybear filming and Kirt questioning.
Crystal Moselle created the HBO show with the film cast leading. HBO cancelled it August 24, 2021 after two seasons. Watch in broadcast order, since the Janay party fallout and the Kirt sponsor tryout carry straight over. The 12 episodes play as one cancelled run.
Good to know
Broadcast order is story order, with the skate rivalry building across both summers. Season 1 sets the all girl session rules that season 2 tests with brand money. Season 2 plays as ending with the video premiere. Treat the 12 episodes as complete, with no film or revival dated. The crew chemistry carries the thin plot.
