Chewing Gum follows Beyonce-obsessed Tracey Gordon in Tower Hamlets chasing love and independence. Series 1 ran 6 episodes from October 6 to November 10, 2015 on E4, ending with the Connor split. Series 2 ran 6 episodes in 2017 from January with Tracey back on the estate.
Michaela Coel created and stars from her Chewing Gum Dreams play. E4 recommissioned it December 2015 after strong reviews. No third series was ordered, with Coel moving to I May Destroy You. The 12 episodes form a closed run. Full run.
Good to know
Broadcast order is essential across only 12 episodes, since Series 2 opens with consequences from the Tolled Road finale. Cynthia and Candice payoffs land only in sequence.
