About Dynasty
Dynasty original ran on ABC from January 1981 with John Forsythe as Blake for nine seasons and 220 episodes to May 1989, plus the 1991 Reunion film. Alexis, Krystle and Fallon feuds drive every boardroom. The CW reboot premiered in October 2017 with Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon for five seasons and 108 episodes to September 2022.
The reboot keeps names and fashion but resets deaths and companies. The CW cancelled it after season five, so both runs stand closed. Watch either complete run for its own catfights with no crossover cast.
Good to know
There is no shared story order since the reboot recasts everyone and resets Denver fully each scene. Watch the original nine seasons for 1980s shoulder pads, or the reboot five for modern boardrooms and new Alexis. The 1991 Reunion fits after the original finale only as an epilogue. Pick one complete run before sampling the other take.
