About Girls
Girls follows Hannah with Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna through Brooklyn jobs and love. The show ran six seasons from 2012 to 2017 with 62 episodes on HBO, built on friendships plus work and moves.
Later seasons add books, babies and goodbyes that assume the early friend bonds. There is no reboot or film. Watch seasons one through six in air order, since every job, date and move assumes the prior year. Jobs stand alone per week, but date and move beats grow with each season across Brooklyn. Lofts stand alone per week, but book and baby beats grow with each season to goodbye.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order, since Brooklyn runs straight with no flashback seasons. Do not skip seasons, because Hannah book only lands after friend buildup. The finale closes each friend and job, so season six needs the Brooklyn setup first. Start at season one. Do not skip seasons, because book only lands after friend buildup and Brooklyn years.
