About The Great British Bake Off
The Great British Bake Off runs as a yearly tent contest since 2010, moving from BBC to Channel 4 in 2017. Each series brings 12 bakers through cakes, biscuits, bread, pastry and showstoppers to one winner. Paul Hollywood judges throughout, with Mary Berry to 2016 then Prue Leith.
Spinoffs sit around the main run. Junior Bake Off, Professional, An Extra Slice and holiday specials reuse the tent but do not affect the main winners. Watch the main series in order for the format change from BBC calm to Channel 4 pace, with spinoffs optional between years.
Good to know
This is an anthology contest, so winners do not carry over except returning specials. Series 1 to 7 are BBC years with Mel, Sue and Mary. Series 8 onward are Channel 4 years with Noel, Sandi then Matt and Alison. Junior and Professional crown separate champions and can be skipped without losing the main thread. Start with series 1 or jump to series 8 for the current pace.
