About How to Get Away With Murder
How to Get Away With Murder aired on ABC from September 2014 to May 2020 from creator Peter Nowalk. It follows defense professor Annalise Keating, played by Viola Davis, and five students covering a new killing each season. Every year opens on a future crime scene, then rewinds to show how the class walked into it across fifteen episodes.
The show ran 90 episodes through six seasons with the murders escalating from Sam to Rebecca to the Hapstalls to Wes to the governor's conspiracy. Nowalk ended it by plan in 2020 with Annalise's funeral framing the series, and no spinoff has been ordered.
Good to know
Watch one through six in order with the flash-forwards as aired, since each season's opening corpse reframes every class scene after it. The Castillo and Governor Birkhead threads span multiple years, so skipping a season breaks the conspiracy chain. The Scandal crossover episode fits inside season four but plays as a bonus case rather than required plot.
