About Life with Derek
Life with Derek follows Casey and Derek forced together when their parents marry, trading pranks across four Canadian seasons from 2005 to 2009. Early seasons set the house rules and school cliques, the middle years add rivals and first jobs, and the last season steadies into shared trust.
Vacation with Derek from 2010 takes the blended family to a lodge for a standalone trip with old tensions back. Life with Luca, the 2023 reunion film, catches up with the family years later and works as a farewell rather than a new season pilot.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 through 4 in broadcast order, then Vacation, then the 2023 film last for the full arc. The prank payoffs only land in sequence despite the sitcom shell. The movies assume the series seen, so do not lead with them. The 2023 film closes the book with no further reunion dated as of this check.
