About Little House on the Prairie
Little House on the Prairie follows the Ingalls family from Kansas to Walnut Grove. The pilot movie aired in March 1974, then season 1 that fall as Pa builds the house. Seasons 2 to 7 cover school, the blind school, jobs and weddings through 1981.
Season 8 brings the Wilder years and season 9 retools as Little House: A New Beginning with fresh faces. Three finale movies aired in 1983 and 1984 closing the town for good. The books shuffle but the show keeps one straight town timeline, so release order is the path.
Good to know
Watch the pilot, then seasons 1 to 9, then the three finale films in line. The story moves forward with births and moves, so release order matches story order well. The Netflix reboot in production sits apart as a new take alone. The run is closed after 1983 with no further order needed at all. Keep the book order handy since the show shuffles events.
