Murderbot premiered May 16, 2025 on Apple TV with a two episode launch, then ran weekly through July 11. Alexander Skarsgard plays the hacked SecUnit guarding a survey team while binge watching serials. The ten episodes cover All Systems Red in full.
Apple renewed the show for season 2 on July 10, 2025, ahead of the finale. Filming was slated for spring 2026 with a large guest cast announced in August 2026, but Apple has set no premiere date yet. The creators plan to fold in books two through four with longer episodes.
Good to know
Watch season 1 straight through, since the survey mystery and the SecUnit memory plot build episode to episode. Season 2 carries no year until Apple dates it, with most outlets pointing at 2027 because of effects work. The Sanctuary Moon serial clips inside the show are jokes, not separate episodes to hunt down.
