About One Hundred Years of Solitude
One Hundred Years of Solitude follows the Buendia family founding Macondo after Jose Arcadio leaves Riohacha. Part 1 runs eight episodes from December 2024 as the town grows through love affairs, wars and ghosts. Part 2 continues with the banana company strike and the later generations.
Netflix filmed in Colombia with the Garcia Marquez estate backing the Spanish language run. The two parts adapt the full novel with no extra seasons planned. Watch Part 1 first since names repeat across generations by design.
Good to know
Watch Part 1 episodes 1 to 8, then Part 2 episodes 1 to 8. The story loops names on purpose, so keep the family tree nearby for the middle stretch. The timeline moves forward with returns and plagues, so release order matches story order well here. The run is closed after the novel ending airs in full at last.
