About Run
Run follows Ruby, a suburban mother, and Billy, a life coach, who text RUN and meet on a Chicago train as they promised in college. Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson lead a week-long trip with police, exes and secrets aboard. HBO aired seven episodes in 2020.
Early episodes establish the pact rules and the separate marriages left behind. Middle chapters add the detective inquiry and the past-night flashbacks. Later episodes reveal the college assault and the choice that ends the ride. The train only moves forward, so skipping ahead spoils who chases whom.
Good to know
Watch episodes one through seven in order. The trip unfolds day by day with flashbacks timed for reveals. There is no alternate order, since the pact text only sends once. New viewers should expect a thriller-comedy mix that ends on a decision rather than a chase finale. Fiona and Laurel scenes land harder when earlier train talks stay fresh in memory.
