About Shameless
John Wells's US adaptation of Paul Abbott's format centers the Gallagher family on Chicago's South Side, led by William H. Macy as Frank. Eleven seasons and 134 episodes aired on Showtime from January 2011 to April 2021, with Emmy Rossum as Fiona through season 9.
The seasons below are grouped into four eras to keep the list usable. Shameless Hall of Shame (six clip-show episodes aired during season 11) is optional recap with some new scenes. The UK original (Channel 4, 2004 to 2013, 11 series) is a separate continuity set in Manchester and is not required.
Good to know
Hall of Shame aired December 2020 to February 2021 with character retrospectives (Ian and Mickey, Kev and V, Lip, Debbie/Carl/Liam, Fiona, Frank). The US finale aired April 11, 2021. COVID quarantine rules kept Rossum from returning for the finale, per Wells. No US revival had been announced as of 2026-09-17.
