About Shannara
The Shannara Chronicles adapts Terry Brooks with Wil Ohmsford guarding Amberle's Ellcrys seed. Season 1 ran 10 episodes from January 5 to March 1, 2016 on MTV covering Elfstones. Season 2 ran 10 episodes from October 11 to November 22, 2017 on Spike with the Crimson invasion one year later. MTV moved it to Spike for year two.
Spike cancelled it after Season 2, so the 2017 finale is abrupt. No third season or film has revived it. The 20 episodes form one Ellcrys to Warlock attempt with a growing Eretria role that only pays off in order.
Good to know
Broadcast order is story order with a one-year jump between seasons. Season 2 assumes you know the Ellcrys rebirth and Wil's Shannara blood. The books continue far past the show with different endings, so keep them separate. With no revival dated, the 2017 closer remains the stop. Watch both seasons close together to keep the Four Lands straight.
