About Shoestring
Shoestring is BBC Bristol detective drama with Trevor Eve as Eddie Shoestring, ex computer expert turned private eye taking Radio West cases around the harbour docks. Series one aired eleven episodes in 1979, series two aired ten in 1980 with Don Satchley and Erica Bayliss assisting in the office each week.
Cases reset weekly but station trust and Eddie injury beats carry across the short run. Watch series one then series two in order, since the second year assumes the first year agency setup to land for the close.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The two BBC series from 1979 to 1980 follow Eddie forward in Bristol time with the same station crew always, so release order and story order are the same list. No revival followed at all, so all 21 episodes close the run completely for viewers.
