About Broadchurch
Broadchurch follows Hardy and Miller in a Dorset town after Danny Latimer’s death. Series 1 from 2013 runs 8 episodes to a closed killer reveal that rewrites the town. Series 2 from 2015 follows the trial and a separate Sandbrook case for Hardy.
Series 3 from 2017 covers a new assault case with the main cast in changed roles. The US remake Gracepoint from 2014 retells series 1 separately and can be skipped. No fourth series was ordered, so the three series form a closed arc about grief and justice rather than an open procedural.
Good to know
Watch series 1 to 3 in order with no skipping. Series 2 spoils series 1 in its first scene, so it cannot be a start. Series 3 assumes the town fallout from the first two runs. Gracepoint fits anywhere as a curious alternate and never connects. Treat series 3 as the planned end, since Chibnall closed the town story there.
