About Taggart
Taggart is Glenn Chandler Scottish crime drama from STV for ITV, starting as three part Killer in September 1983 with Mark McManus as Jim Taggart. Full series ran from July 1985, with McManus until his death in 1994, then James MacPherson as Jardine to 2002, Alex Norton as Burke, and John Michie as Ross to the November 7 2010 close. Early stories split over weeks, later ones play as features.
It became the longest running UK police detective run on air. Watch from Killer through series 27 in air order, since team handoffs and the Taggart funeral assume prior years even as cases stay standalone.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The run from 1983 to 2010 follows Maryhill CID forward through lead changes, so release order and story order are the same list. Australian airings once mixed the order, which confused histories, so stick to UK transmission sequence from Killer onward.
