About The Bill
The Bill from ITV ran 2425 episodes over 26 series about Sun Hill police in London. It started August 16, 1984 as serial with Woodentop pilot, moving to weekly episodes through the 1990s with CID and uniform wings. The show shifted to soap style in 2002 with serial arcs and station fire.
Burnside spinoff ran six episodes in 2000 with ex CID Burnside. Beech is Back special closed arcs in 2001. ITV ended it August 31, 2010 after ratings fall. Release order is story order across Canley years, so series straight is the path with specials after.
Good to know
Watch series in broadcast order since roster turns over slowly across decades. Each early episode runs 25 minutes standalone, later runs 45 minutes serial. Start at 1988 for stable cast or 2002 for modern look. Burnside fits after 1998 exit and before 2000. No revival has aired since 2010, so these 26 series plus spinoffs are complete.
