About The O.C.
The O.C. follows Ryan Atwood as the Cohens take him from Chino to Newport Beach with Seth, Marissa and Summer. The show ran four seasons from 2003 to 2007 with 92 episodes, built on school years, family business and holiday episodes. Season one sets the house rules.
Later seasons add college, deaths and new neighbors, with the finale flashing forward to close each arc. There is no reboot or film. Watch seasons one through four in air order, since every breakup, return and move assumes the prior year.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order, since Newport runs straight with no flashback seasons to reorder. Do not skip season one, because Ryan Cohen trust carries the whole show. Season three death only lands after two years of Marissa buildup. The finale wraps in months, so the last season needs the college setup first.
