About Yellowstone
Yellowstone premiered June 20, 2018 and ended December 15, 2024 after five seasons and 53 episodes, following John Dutton and the ranch he fights to keep. The prequels cover the family's earlier generations: 1883 runs ten episodes in early 2022, and 1923 finished its two-season, sixteen-episode run on April 6, 2025.
Three newer shows carry things past the finale: Marshals on CBS, then The Madison and Yellowstone: Dutton Ranch on Paramount+, all premiering within about ten weeks of each other in spring 2026. A fourth prequel, 1944, is still in development with no date attached.
Good to know
1944 has no premiere date as of September 2026, so it sits last in each order rather than being left out. The 6666 series, a ranch-set project announced years earlier, was described by Taylor Sheridan in August 2026 as shelved, and that same month he said Matthew McConaughey's involvement in any spin-off was not a real deal yet, so neither shows up as an entry. The Madison runs six episodes, and Marshals begins a second season in October 2026.
